Opening Night Film and Made in Tennessee Competition Announced

Mouse, by Kelly O’Sullivan and Alex Thompson, will open the fest. 18 Tennessee films will compete for prizes.

Nelson will receive the James Agee Prize for his outstanding contributions to American regional cinema.

Visit Knoxville announces the fourth annual FILM FEST KNOX, to take place November 12–15, 2026 in partnership with REGAL and The Public Cinema.

Six films from four countries, including restorations of two American classics.

Awards were given in the American Regional Cinema Competition, the Made in Tennessee Competition, and the Elev8or Pitch competition.

The lineup of nearly 60 films includes award-winners from the world’s top fests, lost classics, and Robert Redford’s final leading role.

The fest will honor Sailor Bear films and screen 19 Tennessee-made films.

The Best Film winner will receive an Oscar-qualifying theatrical run, courtesy of Regal.

The third annual fest will take place November 6–9 in partnership with Regal.
