What is FILM FEST KNOX?
It’s a four-day celebration of film programming. The festival features regional and local filmmaking competitions, workshops, and social events in downtown Knoxville. Discover new stories, experience them on the big screen, and hear from the people who bring them to life.
When and where is the festival?
This year’s FILM FEST KNOX takes place November 12–15, 2026, with film screenings at the Regal Riviera, 510 South Gay Street in downtown Knoxville.
Do I need to be a filmmaker or a film expert to attend?
No expertise required—just curiosity! Whether you’re a frequent moviegoer or looking for something different to do downtown, you can start with a single screening or explore the whole festival.
What kinds of movies will I see?
Films include new discoveries, festival favorites, and restored classics. It gives special attention to films made outside the major movie-industry hubs and films made in Tennessee.
Are all the films made in Knoxville?
No. The festival brings films from across the country and around the world to Knoxville, alongside work by Tennessee filmmakers. In fact, the 2026 Made in Tennessee competition features 18 films.
Can I attend just one movie?

What does a full festival pass include?
The $100 All Festival Pass includes access to all films and panels, the Thursday Elev8or Live Pitch, Friday’s opening night film, and Sunday’s closing party. It’s a great option if you want to explore the festival across several days.
What’s different about the VIP pass?
The $275 VIP Festival Pass adds a cocktail hour, the opening VIP party, access to the VIP hospitality tent, help selecting films and panels, and a gift box with a festival T-shirt voucher. It also includes additional closing-party perks and a $20 gift certificate to Scruffy City establishments.
Is there an option between a full pass and one ticket?
Yes. A five-ticket option will also be available, giving you another way to sample the festival. Check out the festival ticket page.
If I buy a pass, do I still need tickets for the movies I choose?
Yes. A pass covers admission, but you still need to reserve a ticket for each screening you want to attend. Tip: select your screenings ahead of time so you don’t miss your favorites!
Will I get to hear from filmmakers?
Guest filmmakers attend the festival, and contribute to scheduled panels and workshops where festival pass holders get to hear about their work. Check out the festival schedule to see who’s participating.
What’s happening at the 2026 festival?
Highlights include the opening night film Mouse, the Made in Tennessee competition, and a celebration of actor and filmmaker Tim Blake Nelson, who will receive the James Agee Prize on November 14.
