Billy Dean Anderson was a prolific criminal and outsider artist who lived in a Tennessee cave for almost five years while on the run from the FBI. After multiple imprisonments, three shootouts with the law, and three prison escapes the cave became Billy’s home, spiritual refuge, and art studio.

Scott Rabideau is a director and producer who has worked in film, television, and nonfiction. His documentary about cave-dwelling artist, outlaw, preacher, and FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitive Billy Dean Anderson will be available on PBS and Amazon Prime, and was supported by Projected Picture Works (Sean Penn, John Palmer, John Wildermuth). Scott has also worked for multiple commercial clients and nonprofit organizations such as the Ford Theatre Foundation, the SCAN Foundation, and the Special Olympics. His award-winning short “Are You Over-sharing?” was featured at Cannes Lions Festival.

John Palmer

Projected Picture Works is an independent production company founded by Sean Penn, John Palmer, and John Wildermuth. Focused on developing and producing compelling stories in all forms, Projected Picture Works collaborates with both established artists and emerging talent to tell stories that are original, meaningful, and cinematic. John is also Adjunct Assistant Professor at USC School of Cinematic Arts.
