With a background in screenwriting and audiovisual appreciation, he has worked as a critic, educator, and consultant. His debut short documentary, Oye, We’re From Here Too, reflects his interest in exploring identity and collective memory. Garibay’s career bridges creative storytelling and cultural analysis.
James Chaney is a U.S. professor and researcher specializing in Social Geography, with a focus on migrant realities and Latino identity. His academic work examines the intersections of place, belonging, and cultural transformation. Oye, We’re From Here Too marks his first documentary, where he translates years of research into cinematic storytelling.
